-Niagara Falls Police responded to the 1500 block of Pierce Avenue around midnight on Tuesday, January 7th, 2020, after reports of shots fired. According to police, seven shell casings, among other evidence, was collected from the scene. Police shortly thereafter found the vehicle that was shot at on LaSalle Avenue. Police say that the vehicle had numerous bullet holes along with broken windows. No injuries were reported and police are continuing to investigate the incident. 

-Niagara Falls Police responded to the Salvation Army on Niagara Falls Boulevard in the late afternoon hours of Tuesday, January 7th, 2020, after reports that a car crashed into the store. According to reports, a woman drove the car through the store after telling police she was trying to heat her car. Police reported a strong odor of marijuana from her vehicle and charged the woman with driving under the influence of drugs and for driving on a suspended license. One store employee was almost hit by the vehicle. The woman, however, suffered broken bones in the crash. 

-Mark Johnson, 54, of Niagara Falls, pleaded not guilty Thursday in Niagara County Court to an indictment that accused him of predatory sexual assault against a child, first-degree course of sexual conduct against a child, second-degree rape, second-degree criminal sexual act and child endangerment. Judge Matthew Murphy set bail at $50,000 and if convicted, Johnson faces a maximum sentence of life in prison. The public defender, David Blackley, representing the defendant, stated, “My client has done nothing wrong” and that “the alleged victim will have credibility issues.” Specifically, Blackley stated that the 13-year-old victim, “has been caught posting herself (online) to boys in compromising positions.”

-Niagara Falls Police and Fire Department responded to Buffalo Avenue and 82nd Street in the evening hours of Thursday, January 9th, 2020, after reports of an explosion in the area with a lot of smoke. 

-Niagara Falls Police responded to 19th Street in the early morning hours of Thursday, January 9th, 2020, after reports of an armed robbery. According to reports, a man was on 19th Street when he was assaulted by a heavyset man who was wearing a clown mask. The victim told police that the man had a gun and demanded his belongings which included a backpack. Police are continuing to investigate the incident. 

-Niagara Falls Police responded to the area of 19th and Ferry Avenue in the evening hours of Friday, January 10th, 2020, after reports of a robbery. Police shortly thereafter responded to a call of a podestrian struck by a vehicle. Police suspect it might have been the vehicle that was involved in the attempted robbery and are continuing to investigate the incident. 

-Niagara Falls Police responded to the Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center in the evening hours of Friday, January 10th, 2020, after reports of a stabbing victim. According to reports, the victim was stabbed and then traveled to the hospital for treatment. 

-Niagara Falls Police responded to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center in the evening hours of Friday, January 10th, 2020, after reports of a person admitting themselves to the ER with a serious laceration to the head area. According to police, the victim stated that he was hit with a gun to the head.

-Niagara Falls Police responded to 27th and Pine Avenue in the early morning hours of Saturday, January 11th, 2020, after a 50-year-old man suffered a broken jaw after being attacked and robbed by several people. According to police, the victim stated that the attackers took his bicycle, cell phone and $500 in cash. Police state that the victim’s face was badly disfigured during the attack and he was taken to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center for treatment.

-Niagara Falls Police and Fire responded to 4600 Hyde Park Blvd. in the evening hours of Saturday, January 11th, 2020, after reports that a child, 9-year-old, fell out of a 2nd floor window. The child was transported to a hospital for treatment and observation. 

-Niagara Falls Police responded to Poppy’s Place on Cayuga Drive in the evening hours of Saturday, January 11th, 2020, after reports of a robbery. Police are continuing to investigate the incident. 

-Niagara Falls Police and Fire responded to the Hooker Docks off of Buffalo Avenue and 53rd Street after reports of a car fire and fatality in the evening hours of Saturday, January 11th, 2020. According to police, remains of a body were found alongside the burning truck. 

-Niagara Falls Police responded to the 1700 block of Pine Avenue in the early evening hours of Sunday, January 12th, 2020, for reports of a larceny. According to police, the shoplifter that ran out of the store shortly thereafter ran back into the store. 

-Niagara Falls Police responded to five burglaries of vehicles in Downtown Niagara Falls over the weekend of January 10th – 12th.
