-Niagara Falls Police responded to the 1500 block of LaSalle Avenue in the early morning hours of Monday, August 5th, 2019, after reports of criminal mischief. According to police, the victim’s car had damage to its windshield, front/driver and passenger side window, rear driver/passenger side windows, and three flat tires. The victim was awoken by the noise and thought they were gunfire, but fell back asleep prior to a neighbor calling her and saying she believed someone was on her property. It was at that time she called the police. Law enforcement is continuing to investigate the incident. 

-Niagara Falls Police were dispatched to the Family Dollar in Downtown Niagara Falls in the afternoon hours of Monday, August 5th, 2019, after receiving an individual called who had received counterfeit money. According to the victim, she was approached by another person the day prior and asked if she had change for a $100 bill. She did, and upon using the $100 bill the following day learned it was fake. 

-Niagara Falls Police responded to the Niagara Falls Memorial Hospital parking ramp in the afternoon hours of Monday, August 5th, 2019, after receiving reports of a theft from a vehicle. According to reports, a car was broken into and items such as a laptop were stolen. The victim stated the laptop would be easily identifiable given the Ghostbusters and kitten stickers on it. Police are continuing to investigate the incident. 

-Niagara Falls Police responded to Frankie’s Donuts in the late afternoon hours of Monday, August 5th, 2019, after receiving reports of a stolen bicycle. The bicycle has not been found and the victim valued it at $25.

-Niagara Falls Police responded to Niagara Falls High School in the evening hours of Monday, August 5th, 2019, after receiving a report that another bicycle had been stolen. According to the victim, she was running on the track and from a distance saw a black man walk up to the bike, get on it, and ride away. Police are continuing to investigate the incident. 

-Niagara Falls Police responded to the 3300 block of 9th Street in the late hours of Monday, Auugst 5th, 2019, after reports of shots fired. According to reports, one victim walked from 9th Street to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center after sustaining a gunshot wound. 

-Niagara Falls Police responded to the 3000 block of Falls Street in the morning hours of Wednesday, August 7th, 2019, after receiving a call of a car break in. According to the victim, she woke to her car having the window smashed out and items taken valued around $600. Included in the items stolen was a laptop. The victim stated that she did not leave her car with the window broken the night before. 

-Niagara Falls Police responded to the 1900 block of Mackena Avenue in the late morning hours of Wednesday, August 7th, 2019, after receiving reports of an attempted car break in. Upon arriving at the scene, police discovered that the victim’s car had a window broken. Nothing was missing according to the victim, but he did estimate the broken window to cost around $200. 

-Niagara Falls Police responded to the Tops on Portage Road in the early afternoon hours of Wednesday, August 7th, after receiving reports of a larceny. According to the victim’s statement, they had cashed a check worth $305 and then discovered in the bathroom that they only had $205 dollars. After speaking with customer service, the victim believes that the woman behind her took the $100 off of the counter where it was left and walked away. Police are aware of the name and address of the inidividual believed to have took the $100 off of the counter that was not hers and are continuing to investigate. 

-Niagara Falls Police responded to the 5800 block of Buffalo Avenue in the mid-afternoon hours of Wednesday, August 7th, 2019, after a report of illegal dumping. According to reports, the complaintant stated that two rolling armchairs were deposited onto her property overnight in the alley. The homeowner stated that this is the second time such dumping has occurred on her property. 

-Niagara Falls Police initiated a traffic stop in the late hours of Sunday, August 11th, 2019, on Niagara Street. According to reports, the officer smelled a strong odor of marijuana from the car and performed a search of the vehicle at which time white residue, believed to be cocaine, was found. The individual was taken into custody without incident and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, amoing other things.
