JASTRZEMSKI SWORN IN AS COUNTY CLERK
LOCKPORT—Niagara County Clerk Joseph A. Jastrzemski was sworn into office today in a ceremony at the Niagara County Courthouse, vowing to “make everyone proud” of the quality of services that will be provided by his office.
The inaugural ceremony also brings the official close to the two decades of leadership in the post by former County Clerk Wayne F. Jagow, whose successes in office were lauded by both Jastrzemski and Niagara County Legislature Majority Leader Randy R. Bradt, R-North Tonawanda.
“Joe Jastrzemski’s involvement in the community and the results he achieved as supervisor of Wilson set him up to be a truly exceptional county clerk,” Bradt said after Jastrzemski’s inauguration. “But I’m sure he also knows that following Wayne Jagow—a clerk who really made customer service his office’s most important benchmark, whether it was the DMV, veterans’ services, or our Pistol Permit Office—is going to be a burden. Wayne set an exceedingly high standard, but Joe Jastrzemski’s a results-oriented leader.”
Jastrzemski’s remarks to those in attendance were brief, and included thanks to his former colleagues in Wilson town government, including outgoing Town Clerk Wanda Burrows. Burrows, who also departed office in Wilson with the New Year, administered Jastrzemski’s oath of office as county clerk.
“Above all else, I intend to give our taxpayers, the people who entrusted me with this office, results. I want to make everyone proud of what we accomplish,” Jastrzemski said.
