Vincent Cauley: A Bold Voice in Niagara Falls City Council

Niagara Falls City Council Member Vincent Cauley is emerging as a force to reckon with. Known for his assertive stance, Cauley has vocally challenged Mayor Robert Restaino’s extravagant use of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds.

As a member of the Republican majority of the Niagara Falls City Council, Cauley filled the term of a retiring council member last December. Since then, he has been vocal about his belief that the city is moving in the wrong direction.

In a divided City Council vote on the renewal of recycling and refuse fees, Cauley, along with Council Member Donta Myles, voted against the measure.

This and other votes highlights Cauley’s commitment to financial transparency, especially after Mayor Restaino refused to disclose to the council how many millions he had spent or planned to spend on Buffalo attorneys to fund his Centennial Park.

Born and raised in Niagara Falls, Cauley’s early life experiences have shaped his perspective on leadership and service. He attended the Rochester Institute of Technology, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering Technology. After graduation, he returned to his hometown to start his professional career.

Now, Cauley is running for election with a focus on five key areas: making the streets safe, city services, fiscal accountability, economic opportunity, and improving the quality of life.

“I want to lock arms and hearts with you as we make this city the city to come to, not just come through. It will not be easy. I cannot do it alone. We can do it and we will do it…together,” he said.

With his pledge to work for the people of Niagara Falls, Council Member Cauley is poised to make a significant impact on the city’s future. From a local boy to a city council member, his journey is a testament to his commitment and dedication to the city he calls home.
