Property Owner Blames Family of Murdered Woman for Property Damage

Niagara Falls Police responded to the 1700 block of LaSalle Avenue around 1415 hours on Saturday, February 13th, 2021, after reports of a burglary. According to police, the complainant stated that at some point between 2/6/21 and 2/11/21 an unknown suspect broke into his vacant property and broke 18 windows. The complainant stated that damage to this property is an ongoing problem as it is the site of a prior unsolved homicide.
The Niagara Reporter has independently confirmed that the unsolved homicide referred to by the property owner is Mariah Sade Wilson. The property owner, who is a well-known landlord in the City of Niagara Falls, is Steven Clark. Clark has been referred to as a “slumlord” on social media regarding his failure to upkeep properties.
Clark told the Niagara Falls Police that the victim’s family and friends continue to damage the house. The allegation has not been taken well by family and friends of Mariah who took to social media.
Jontae Scott wrote the following on Facebook regarding the allegation: “If he don’t go ahead with this bullshit with his slum landlord ass!!!! No one is destroying that raggedy ass property he still didnt fix shit in the muthafucka!!! We don’t have time to destroy shit as we are STILL trying to get jutice for our sister Mariah Sade who was MURDERED where someone came in through the back door that was BROKE because HE refused to fix it and the city REFUSED to hold him accountable. The only thing we do is put balloons and candles on the porch.”
Julia Stevens added the following: “Steven Clarke you raggedy ass bitch. How dare you accuse my family of doing damage to that home, when you had ZERO concern for damages and refused to do repairs to the home while Mariah Sade and her young children lived in it. Left the door busted for months to the point some monster was able to just enter and take her life.”
Upon searching the home, police saw two unopened bottles of Twisted Tea which the complainant believes belong to the individual(s) who broke in.
Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
