The Niagara Reporter publisher, Frank Parlato, turned the tables on the vicious NXIVM cult.
Cult leader Keith Raniere and his top lietenant, Seagram’s heiress, Clare Bronfman deceived the federal government and got Parlato indicted on bogus charges. Outraged by their lying to the Feds,   Parlato went to work to prove his innocence and investigate the cult’s own crimes.
In a historic turnabout,  the accusers became the accused. The FBI arrested Raniere, Bronfman, and actress Allison Mack and dropped charges against Parlato. The case that remains against Parlato is flimsy at best and a new Supreme Court ruling supports Parlato’s contention that the entire case against him was trumped up by a misplaced desire by the Feds to please the enormously wealthy and politically connected (and now indicted ) Clare Bronfman.
There are those who say that what Parlato did, will make journalistic and American legal history. At least two major television documentaries that will feature Parlato’s role in destroying one of the most deadly cults in America will be coming out on major networks.   Details on this will be reported in the coming weeks.
In addition, TV actress Catherine Oxenberg wrote a compelling book “Captive”, that gives details about Parlato’s brave role in taking down the dangerous sex cult and freeing her daughter and more than 100 slaves that were trapped in the wicked cult.
