Vendor Applications for the “Niagara Mist Open Air Artisan Market” Now Available through City Clerk’s Office

Niagara Falls, N.Y. – Today, Mayor Paul A. Dyster and Lisa Vitello, Niagara Falls City Clerk announced the creation of a new vending district in the heart of the city’s downtown business corridor. The district, to be known as the “Niagara Mist Open Air Artisan Market” will provide outdoor retail space for up to 50 vendors along the Niagara Street corridor from Third Street to Rainbow Boulevard.

The special vending district will run from May 1 through September 30 and will offer visitors and residents an outdoor market shopping experience featuring products including jewelry, pottery, clothing, housewares, crafts from local artists and much more.

Mayor Paul Dyster said, “With more than 8 million visitors to the City of Niagara Falls every year, the creation of the open air market will enable us to highlight the talent and creativity of local artisans while providing a one-of-a-kind shopping experience for residents and visitors as unique as the Falls itself. This is yet another exciting layer to the many offerings meant to extend the stay of visitors and encourage residents to rediscover their downtown. I want to commend City Clerk Lisa Vitello in spearheading the creation of this new vending district and look forward to some shopping this spring!”

“The Open Air Market will operate in view of the millions of tourists who visit the heart of our City every year,” said Lisa Vitello, Niagara Falls City Clerk. “It will also provide residents with a fun, new outdoor shopping experience and allow them to reconnect with an area traditionally seen as a tourist district. My office is available to assist all interested potential vendors and we look forward to the opportunity to showcase the talent our local artisans have to offer.”

Applications for interested vendors are available through the City Clerk’s office Monday through Friday from 8:00 am until 3:30 pm.
